Vida is a mother, writer, actor, producer and fellow reader. She enjoys performing on both the stage and screen. She started doing stand-up comedy 9 months after the birth of her second son. While born in New York City to Bronx natives, Vida grew up in Passaic, NJ and attended elementary school in Washington Heights.
Vida is proud of her family’s Nuyorican roots and even prouder to be a mom of boys from “son up to son down!”
Vida has several books and production projects in the works. She earned her undergraduate degree in Theater at New York University – Tisch School of the Arts. Vida’s love of words and learning led her to accept a teaching position and complete her master’s degree in Special Education. She taught professionally as a licensed teacher in a public high school in New Jersey for 11 years.
Although she wrote her first book over 10 years ago, she never published anything until Dog Letter, the first book in the series she calls, The Misadventures of Scar Fernández. Her second book, Scar’s Thanksgiving, will debut just in time for the season of food and gratitude.
